All Inclusive Childcare
Our nursery is now an All Inclusive nursery, meaning that we provide all meals, snacks, nappies, wipes and milk for your convenience. Our meals and snacks are sourced locally and prepared and cooked freshly by our on-site nursery Chef.
Soft Play Centre
Our Soft Play Centre aids physical development and is suitable for children of all ages to enjoy. Children at Holyrood Nursery Princes Dock have the opportunity to use this area at various points throughout the day.
During yoga our children learn different poses and stretches while exploring their imagination. Children learn about physical activity, turn taking and participation while having lots of fun.
Settling in Sessions
Our nursery offers settling in sessions. Parents can bring their child for a couple of hours first, gradually introducing the child to a new environment. Settling in sessions are aimed at helping your child to adapt to their new surroundings and become more familiar with the staff and other children.
Our children are given the opportunity to explore another language through weekly Spanish lessons which are included in our nursery fees. Our Spanish teacher educates our children through engaging activities and songs.
Eco Schools is the largest sustainable schools programme in the world and is designed to encourage action on sustainable development education issues. Our children love getting involved in their Eco Schools projects and learning about how to help protect the environment.
Regular visits from a music teacher support our children in exploring and developing a love for music.
We celebrate the big move to primary school with a special graduation ceremony each year—caps, gowns, the works!
Each year we celebrate Easter with a special Easter Parade – enjoyed by all our little ones!
All children have access to IT equipment including iPads, laptops and computers which are used to support teaching and learning.
We celebrate Christmas by putting on a wonderful Christmas show for friends and family each year. There's always much excitement in preparing for the show as we learn songs and organise our special dress ups.
Our nursery enjoys great ties with our local community and we are often out and about visiting local sights and getting involved in events.
We are lucky to have bi-lingual staff who are able to support children in their first language, or in exploring new languages. This not only helps children settle well into nursery, but also provides opportunity to better understand and celebrate children’s cultures and heritage. We currently have staff fluent in Spanish.
Our nursery encourages children to celebrate festivals throughout the year. This is one of the best ways for children to learn about different religions and cultures by celebrating various world religious festivals, food tasting from different countries, and dressing up in the national dress of their friends.
Physical Development Star
Our Physical Development Stars programme ensures that our children are moving for a minimum of 3 hours per day and are using and developing all parts of their body. Children will enjoy focused group activities such as yoga, dance and games.
Taking part in fundraising activities helps children to learn about others that are less fortunate than themselves and understand how we can help them. Fundraising events are good fun and are a great way to get children, families and communities together. Some of the fundraisers we have taken part in are; sponsored toddles, superhero days, bake sales and garden parties. We are currently fundraising for Comic Relief and Children in Need.
In recognition that education begins in the home, we are fully committed to a partnership approach with parents. Parents are kept up to date with termly newsletters and parent’s evenings every 6 months. Parents are also able to keep up to date with activities going on in the nursery by following our social media accounts; Princes Dock Twitter and Princes Dock Facebook.
We accept your courier deliveries to make things that little bit easier for busy mums and dads.
